STH have completed works on the $50 million upgrade of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Adelaide. The upgrade allows Women's & Children's Health Network to continue providing the highest level of care while planning continues for the new Women’s & Children’s Hospital. The upgrades addresses high priority clinical and infrastructure requirements in four key areas, enabling the delivery of high quality and safe services to patients and their families. The Mallee Ward redevelopment will create a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Unit with an Outdoor Space and the ability to flex bedrooms between high dependency and general use as required. 

The Paediatric Emergency Department (PED) redevelopment has an improved Triage Area, dedicated Mental Health Assessment Spaces and 3 Multi-purpose Consultation Spaces. In February 2020, STH oversaw the successful completion of the PED Emergency Triage and Waiting Areas. 2021 also saw the completion of the Mallee Ward (previously Boylan Ward), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service Unit.
