Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2 & 2A

Innovative Care

STH was commissioned to undertake Stage 2 of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital Redevelopment at design phase, continuing the hospitals commitment to deliver contemporary Models of Care to the community.

Stage 2 of the project includes a refurbished and expanded Emergency Department and a new six-storey Clinical Services Building. This will include an Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit, a Cardiac Investigations Unit with Respiratory/Cardiac and Coronary Care beds, Ambulatory Care, Medical Imaging, Paediatrics Ward, 147 consult rooms Medical Assessment and Inpatient Units. Complementing this is a welcoming foyer and retail space. The project also includes a Helipad.

Continuing on from Stage 2, STH was further engaged to deliver Stage 2A. Stage 2A is a 1,000m2 two-storey building that will complete the latest stage in the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital Redevelopment. Consisting of Renal, Chemotherapy, Breast Screening and Oral Health, the building will provide the development with key Outpatient Services.

The redevelopment of a brownfield site within an existing campus has presented multiple challenges during construction that have required STH to be responsive and adaptive to delivery requirements. Working closely with the contractor STH has assisted in their staging to allow for decanting of services in buildings due to be demolished as part of the development. This has resulted in meeting the program and minimise disruption to existing services within the campus.

This project is being delivered in partnership with Health Infrastructure and Northern Sydney Local Health District.
