Monash Children’s Hospital

Clayton, Victoria

Comprehensive Care

In 2011, Silver Thomas Hanley conducted a review of a previous Monash Medical Centre Clayton (MMCC) Master Plan produced in 2007. The intent was to update the 2007 preferred design solution in order to reflect the revised and projected strategic operational, service, environmental and amenity facilities required.

In 2013, STH were appointed to deliver the new Monash Children’s Hospital, designed to be Australia’s third largest children’s hospital. The aim was to provide one coherent public identity for the comprehensive paediatric services provided across several campuses in a new state-of-the-art Children’s Hospital. The new centre is connected to the existing MMCC, integrating tertiary, primary and secondary care for children and increases the capacity of paediatric services at MMCC, providing for the projected growth and future expansion requirements.
